This is a Kiyomizu ware piece from Kyoto, though its character is closer to Hagi ware in many respects. The clay is somewhat coarse and lightweight. The coarse clay body containing many small stones creates a unique and irregular surface expression. An elegant yet Earthy cup.
This cup will gradually develop a subdued vintage look with continued use.
