This large 27 cm sake bottle is a historical example of a Kayoi Tokkuri—a reusable ceramic container once used to carry sake home from the liquor store.
Known also as Bimbo Tokkuri (瓶甁徳利), these bottles were often stamped or painted with the shop’s name and rented out to customers for repeated use.
Strong presence as an interior accent or sculptural display.
