This elegant bamboo flower basket (hanaire) was skillfully handcrafted by Hounan Iwao (b. 1955), a certified traditional craftsman from Beppu City.
He received prestigious awards at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition in Paris (1985) and the Beppu Bamboo Crafts New Works Exhibition, and he represented Japan at the 2005 Aichi Expo with a commemorative piece
