1150ml / Tetsubin with Copper Lid | Japanese Cast Iron Kettle

$360.00

We have run out of stock for this item.

An authentic iron kettle with a copper lid.

This is an iron kettle (tetsubin) for boiling water, not a kyusu teapot for brewing tea. The interior is uncoated, allowing a small amount of iron to naturally leach into the water.

The words "Ichiryū Manbai" (一粒万倍) are inscribed on this cast iron kettle. Ichiryū Manbai is a traditional Japanese concept symbolizing the belief that a single seed can multiply into ten thousand, representing abundance, prosperity, and the power of small beginnings.

Tetsubin has a 400-year history rooted in the Japanese Tea Ceremony and is valued worldwide for its elegant craftsmanship and its ability to enhance the flavor of water—making tea taste richer, milder, and smoother. It also releases trace amounts of iron into the water, offering health benefits, especially for those with low iron levels.

Unlike mass-produced kettles made of stainless steel, each Tetsubin is a sustainable, heirloom-quality item crafted by skilled artisans.
With proper care, it can be passed down through generations.
