KEITEN TAKAHASHI
He was selected for the Nitten Exhibition for the first time in 1951, and since then has been selected seven times. He has received numerous awards for his innovative forms and graceful works with elaborate designs on the surface of the ground and crests. In 1992, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 4th class.
In 1996, he became the first person living in Yamagata Prefecture to be designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property and a Living National Treasure (chanoyu kettle).
