Tetsu Yamada (1898-1971)
One of the founder of “SOUDENSHA”.
After becoming a monk, he moved to Kyoto and started pottery in 1932.
In 1947, Tetsu Yamada founded “Shinshou Bijutsu Kuugeikai” with Kenkichi Tomimoto, a Living National Treasure.
On the plate, “寿” (meaning JOY, HAPINESS) is written by Yamada.
He is also known as a good calligrapher.
