Kazuo Akiyama (1932 - )
At first, he wanted to become a Western-style painter and exhibited his paintings at the Japan Watercolor Association Exhibition, the Jiyu Bijutsu Kyokai Exhibition, and the Kokuga-kai Exhibition.
Later, he switched to ceramics, built his first kiln in 1960, and exhibited his works at the Kokuga-kai Exhibition of Ceramic Art and the Japan Folk Crafts Exhibition, winning many prizes.
However, after 1963, he stopped participating in exhibitions and public competitions, and since then has exhibited his works in solo shows.
