Tetsu Yamada (1898-1971)
Born in Nigata Prefecture.
Yamada became a priest at Untan-Temple in Gifu Prefecture when he was 17.
In 1932, Started his carrier as a potter.
In 1947, Established Shinshou-Kai together with Kenkichi Tomimoto (National Living Treasure).
Yamada is also known as Calligrapher.
Potter Hikaru Yamada is son of Tetsu.
