KENBA HARIU (1927-) (4th generation of Tsutsumi Kiln)
Sendai city in Miyagi prefecture.

In 1953, he exhibited his work at the Sendai Kogei Seishokai Exhibition.

In 1956, he was awarded the Newcomer's Prize at the Sangi-Ten (in 1974, he was awarded the Member's Effort Award), and was selected for the first time at the Exhibition of New Works of Traditional Crafts.

In 1963, succeeded to the name of Hariu Kenma IV.

Awarded the Miyagi Prefecture Art Encouragement Prize in 1974.

In 1983, he was awarded the Minister of Education Prize at the National Ceramic Art Exhibition.

In 1985, he received the Prime Minister's Award.

In 1993, he received the Miyagi Prefecture Educational and Cultural Achievement Award.

In 1997, he received the Sendai City Award for Distinguished Services to Education and Culture.

In 2000, he received the Commendation for Distinguished Services to Regional Culture from the Minister of Education.
