I'm not keen on this one.
It is pretty, yes. But the texture is odd, you can feel the paint. There are scratches and flaws and the paint feels rough, especially the gold. This cup sacrifices comfort and texture to opulence and elegance.
There is a fragility that makes me anxious to drink from it or wash it. I wish that the paint had been sealed with a transparent glaze. I am aware however that this is not the Kutani ware style where the paint is on the surface, unlike Karatsu, Arita or Mashiko ware.
I definitely recommend this cup as decoration, but as teaware, I'd be more hesitant.
