GREETING

I was born and raised in Kyoto, near Kiyomizu Temple.

My grandfather and father were both potters, and from a young age I was surrounded by pottery and other Japanese crafts.
My grandfather's friends and neighbors included potters Yuzo Kondo and Kanjiro Kawai, and my father was the last apprentice of Kenkichi Tomimoto, a living national treasure.

I see a universal beauty born from nature in Japanese ceramics and crafts. And I believe that they transcend the boundaries of time and country, and that they match the architecture, living spaces, and cuisine of your country.

"Kinsen" is the Japanese word for heartstrings.

I hope that these works introduced here will touch your kinsen.
